COLUMBUS, Ohio – With the start of Ohio State’s season just eight days away, the Big Ten Conference today announced its preseason Players to Watch list. Three Buckeyes – seniors Tre Leclaire and Ryan Terefenko and junior Justin Inacio – were among the 18 players honored. Ohio State was also picked fourth in the preseason coaches poll.
Terefenko and Inacio were both previously named to the Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Big Ten team and are Inside Lacrosse Preseason All-Americans. The trio is set to lead Ohio State in its season opener on Tuesday, Feb. 4 against Detroit Mercy at 7 p.m. inside the Woody Hayes Athletic Center. Tickets are available and can be purchased by visiting OhioStateBuckeyes.com/tickets or by calling 1-800-GOBUCKS.
Leclaire and Terefenko are both three-time All-Americans who have each played in over 40 career games. Leclaire is the fifth leading goal scorer amongst the conference’s returning players. He scored 34 goals in 11 games last year and enters his senior season with 109 career goals, fifth most in program history. Terefenko earned second team USILA All-America honors in 2019 after totaling 36 ground balls, four goals, four assists and two caused turnovers as a short stick defensive midfielder.
Inacio led the Big Ten in face-off win percentage a year ago (.637) on his way to earning the conference’s co-Specialist of the Year honor. A junior and honorable mention USILA All-American in 2019, Inacio has won 311 of 496 career face-offs. He’s a junior majoring in biology.
