COLUMBUS, Ohio — Three members of the national champion Ohio State wrestling team have been named to the Amateur Wrestling News 2015 All-Rookie Team, the publication announced today. The Buckeyes are represented by All-Americans Nathan Tomasello (125 lbs.), Bo Jordan (165 lbs.) and Kyle Snyder (197 lbs.).

Tomasello, a Big Ten and NCAA champion, ended his season on an 18-match winning streak and was 33-4 overall with four falls, eight major decisions and six technical falls. His road to the Big Ten championship included a victory over two-time defending NCAA champion Jesse Delgado of Illinois in the semifinals and Thomas Gilman of Iowa in the finals, avenging an earlier loss in the regular season. Tomasello’s performance then went up a notch at the NCAA Championships, as he knocked off top-seeded and previously unbeaten Alan Waters of Missouri in the semifinals before finishing off his title with a 9-5 decision over upstart Zeke Moisey of West Virginia in the finals.

Jordan, a redshirt freshman from St. Paris, Ohio, was 22-2 on the year and won his first 17 matches before falling in the Big Ten finals to his cousin, Isaac Jordan of Wisconsin. At the NCAA Championships, he advanced all the way to the semifinals and then won two critical wrestleback matches to help Ohio State win its first team title in the 94-year history of the program. His pin of Jackson Morse (Illinois) provided critical bonus points for the Buckeyes.

Snyder, a true freshman who came to Ohio State as the nations top-rated recruit, had a rookie season that saw him go 30-4 with a team-high 15 major decisions and two technical falls. He was the Big Ten and NCAA runner up at 197 pounds, finishing 15-1 in the regular season against Big Ten competition that included a 12-match winning streak from Jan. 11-March 8. In the NCAA semifinals, he defeated defending national champion J’Den Cox of Missouri, 3-2.
