COLUMBUS, Ohio – Seniors Cian Dabrowski, Christine Easton and Rainey Hodgson are among 18 players named to the 2016 Big Ten Players to Watch list, announced Monday by the Big Ten conference.

Additionally, the Buckeyes, ranked No. 18 in both the Lacrosse Magazine and IWLCA preseason polls, were picked to finish fourth in the Big Ten, which has become arguably the toughest women’s lacrosse conference in the country. Ohio State was picked behind Maryland, Penn State and Northwestern. All four teams advanced to last year’s NCAA tournament.

Dabrowski enters her senior season with a team-best 69 goals and 25 assists. She started seven of 18 games last season and was fifth on the team in total points (39), recording 29 goals and 10 assists and a team-best seven free-position goals. Dabrowski played her best lacrosse down the stretch, scoring eight goals in the final four games, including a team-high four off the bench as the Buckeyes knocked off No. 1 Maryland in the Big Ten tournament semifinals. She was named to the Big Ten all-tournament team for her efforts after totaling seven goals and three assists in the three games.

Easton started 19 games in which she played at midfield and was second on the team with 50 draw controls, including a season-high five in the Big Ten tournament win against Maryland, one of her 15 games with multiple draw controls. She scored one goal in the win against Canisius while also adding four draw controls. Easton has 44 career starts heading into her senior season, the most among any Buckeye on the 2016 roster.

Hodgson started 15 of 21 games last season and was fifth on the team with 30 goals and 19 assists, good for sixth best in the Big Ten. She recorded a season-high four assists in the win over Detroit and again vs. Michigan. She had eight multiple-goal games, scoring a season-high five goals in the win against Binghamton. In the Big Ten tournament win against Rutgers she scored three goals to go along with one assist and five ground balls. Hodgson has 35 career goals and 19 assists heading into her senior season.

The Buckeyes begin the 2016 season in less than two weeks on Saturday, Feb. 13 vs. Detroit on the indoor field at the Woody Hayes Athletics Complex. Game time is 3:30 p.m. ET.
