🏟 The Show in The Shoe: Lavender Day vs. Golden Hurricane

With one home game under their belts, the Buckeyes return home for the second-leg of a three game homestand vs. the Golden Hurricane from Tulsa Saturday (3:30 p.m. / FS1). Numerous goings-on are planned for tilt No. 2 in The Shoe, including a lavender-clad cancer awareness theme in combination with the annual Scarlet and Gray student-athlete celebration.

Yes, last week was a setback. But Buckeye fans need not reach too far into their memory banks to recall a Week 2 stumble vs. Va Tech in 2014 and how the rest of that season played out. So come on down to The Shoe and enjoy the ride that is the 2021 Ohio State football season.

Scarlet, Gray & Lavender?

The annual Scarlet & Gray football game, where student-athletes and the 36 athletic programs in the department are celebrated, will take on an added color this week: lavender. The Ohio State Department of Athletics will team with Ohio State’s Comprehensive Cancer Center – James Cancer Hospital and Solove Research Institute (The James) to promote cancer awareness with lavender the designated color for all cancers. Cancer survivors, those currently battling the disease and those who have lost family members to cancer can submit photos with #BuckeyeSurvivor. They will be shared on the Ohio Stadium video board Saturday.

The perimeter has been expanded and there once again will be a concert stage featuring live music. Check out fun activities, food trucks and the Nissan Heisman House. Us Buckeyes know a thing or seven about that trophy.
