There is no “i” in team and that’s exactly why fencer Lauryn DeLuca chose her solo-athlete sport. She didn’t want to let anyone down.
When Lauryn was young, brain scans revealed scarring in the cerebral cortex of her brain which translates to cerebral palsy.
Lauryn has found there are no limits in life and wants to create a new narrative for Persons With Disabilities.
Lauryn is the only varsity Paralympian fencer in the NCAA. Although she cannot compete for Ohio State, she is still considered a member of the team. She is continuing her training and hopes to represent Team USA in future Paralympics.
