All Heart

There are two words that parents of a newborn do not want to hear. Something’s wrong.

At eleven days old, sophomore gymnast Claire Gagliardi was rushed to Nationwide Children’s Hospital in Columbus, Ohio for open heart surgery. Today, Claire thrives in a sport that she loves and her physical heart loves even more.

Claire and her teammates often volunteer their time at NCH to meet with kids, play games and work on arts and crafts. Claire hopes to someday work at the same hospital that helped her 10 days into her life.

"My physical heart loves the sport and is thriving in it. If my heart can thrive, I can thrive."
