COLUMBUS, Ohio – After reporting to practice at 6 a.m. Tuesday, members of the Ohio State synchronized swimming team took a brief break in preparation for the 2011 season to show The Lantern sports writer Evan Closky the ins and outs of the sport.

Of note, sophomore Caitlin Hoffman was especially considerate, taking the time to teach Closky techniques that would prove useful in the “team-routine finale.”

Closky’s interview was part of the student newspaper’s “The Lantern vs. …” series in which he attempts to excel at some of the 36 varsity sports provided at Ohio State. He previously tried his hand as a goalkeeper with the Ohio State men’s soccer team.
