Team Captains for 2019-20 Pistol Season

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State University Pistol’s 2019-20 team captains are Emily Nothnagle and Bernard Melus.

Emily is a Junior from Hershey, Pa. She is a Big Ten Distinguished Scholar, Academic All-Big Ten and OSU Scholar-Athlete. Emily placed 13thin Sport Pistol at the 2019 Collegiate Pistol National Championship.

“I’m very excited to be team captain this year! We are training harder than ever, and I can’t wait to see how the team’s hard work pays off. I plan to support and motivate my teammates throughout the year so that we can accomplish our goals and have our best season yet!”

Bernard is a Junior from Lake Zurich, Ill.  He has earned Second Team All-American distinction in Free Pistol and Honorable Mention All-American for Standard Pistol. Bernard traveled to Changwon, Korea to compete in the ISSF World Championships.

“Being a captain is a great opportunity to influence my team because of the unique relationships we possess with the other athletes. I will strive to be a valuable resource to my teammates based on experiences I have had as a student-athlete.”
