Coach Jim Bollman, offensive coordinator and offensive line

On Steve Rehring

“Steve should be doing pretty well. He has the okay to go full speed in the weight room so he can get back going to where he was. He has a lot of experience, as all of these guys know and we are glad he is back. You know he will be in the mix.”

On Bryant Browning

“The best thing I see out of Bryant is a little steady improvement each day. He does something, one aspect of the game, a little better every day. That is the most pleasing thing to me. He is continuing to build his repertoire and that is what you want.”

Alex Boone, senior offensive lineman

On J.B. Shugarts

“I have seen a lot out of J.B. Coach Bollman is so smart when he teaches our guys and it can be difficult to keep up. So far, he is keeping up really well and has done a great job.”

On the freshmen

“They are doing a great job. (Mike) Brewster is learning each day and doing a great job; J.B. (Shugarts) is doing a really good job. They just have to keep it up and we will see what happens.”

On the biggest adjustment for the freshmen

“At this level it is not just about knowing your assignments. You are playing with guys who are older than you and have been at this level; it is not high school anymore. At this stage everyone is amazing. They have to put their pads on and learn to hit and get hit and take the pain.”
