COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior outside hitter Nicolas Szerszen has been named a MIVA Player of the Week for the tenth time in his career (nine offensive, one defensive). This time, he shares the Offensive Player of the Week as co-winners with Loyola’s Jeff Jendryk. Szerszen hit .561 during a pair of road wins at Penn State and Saint Francis last week, averaging 5.25 points per set.
Szerszen began the weekend by attacking .600 with 22 kills in a five-setter over the Nittany Lions before returning the next night for 14 kills and no errors (.519) against the Red Flash. He totaled 36 kills and five service aces for the week.
