COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Buckeyes have elected to cancel their annual Senior Meet in favor of a nationals send-off closer to U.S. Collegiate Championships. The program’s three graduating seniors, Katilyn Carboun, Breanna Malone and Phoebe Coffin, were recognized at the Jessica Beck Memorial Competition earlier in February.

Ohio State synchro has two competitions remaining until North Regionals in Ann Arbor, Mich. on March 7th. The Senior Meet, which was slated to be held Feb. 29 at McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion, left a month lapse between the Buckeyes’ last home performance and collegiate nationals. Hosting a nationals send-off will allow fans to preview the nationals routines closer to the pinnacle of the synchro season, and therefore closer to the routines’ final forms. The team works continuously throughout the year to perfect the team, trio, duet and solo routines.

The 2020 U.S. Collegiate Championships will take place once again in Mesa, Ariz., March 27-29. The Buckeyes have won the Overall Institution championship for three straight years, and have their eyes set on a 33rd national title this year. The program achieved a competition sweep last year, winning the solo, duet, trio and team routine categories. The bar is high and the Buckeyes are ready for the challenge.

Ohio State synchro will be announcing the date of the send-off later this month. To stay updated, follow the Buckeyes on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter and ohiostatebuckeyes.com.
