COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State synchronized swimming team posted 94 points to defeat Keuka College and Michigan at the OSU Tri-Meet Saturday at Bill and Mae McCorkle Aquatic Pavilion. Keuka finished in second with 61 points while Michigan was third with 54.5.

The teams performed solo, duet and trio routines at the tri-meet.

In the solo routine, senior Barbara Nesbitt recorded an 89.333 to finish first.

The Buckeyes claimed the top two spots in both the duet and trio. Meghan Kinney and Jillian Penner won the duet competition with a mark of 90.333 followed by teammates Jayme DeLancy and Deborah Shim in second with a score of 88.500.

Kinney, Carmen Moraes and Caitlin Stewart garnered a score of 91.000 to take first in trio. Nesbitt, Shim and Michelle Theriault finished just behind with a 90.17 second-place finish.

Before the meet, the student-athletes participated in a technical element competition, ranging from Figures A-D. Penner took first in Figure A, while Hilary Deason took first in Figure B.

Up next, the Buckeyes will travel to St. Charles, Mo., to compete against Lindenwood Jan. 31.
