COLUMBUS, Ohio–Ohio State remained unbeaten (22-0, 9-0) with a pair of wins last week vs. No. 12 Purdue at home and at Northwestern.
Jared Sullinger was named the Big Ten Freshman of the Week for the 10th time for his efforts in the two wins, the league office announced Monday.
He led the way with 19 points and 7.5 rebounds a game in the wins. Sullinger scored 17 points to go with seven rebounds in Ohio States’s 87-64 victory over the Boilermakers. He then scored 21 points with eight rebounds vs. the Wildcats.
His free throw with 3.5 seconds to play secured Ohio State’s win in Evanston, 58-57. For the week, Sullinger connected on 58 percent of his FGs (14-24) recorded three assists and three steals while playing 65 total minutes without a turnover.
Ohio State has earned all 12 Big Ten FOW honors this season with Deshaun Thomas and Aaron Craft each earning one award. Sullinger also has four conference player of the week accolades.
Ohio State is home Thursday (7 p.m.) vs. Michigan and at Minnesota Sunday (2 p.m.). Both games will be televised by ESPN.
