Columbus, Ohio – Former Ohio State Buckeye Amber Stokes will travel to Germany later this month to play professionally for evo New Basket ’92 Oberhausen of the Bundesliga, Germany’s top league for women. Oberhausen was the runner up in last year’s league championship.

Her agent, Matthew C. Krejci, Esq., of MK Sports and Entertainment LLC (Dublin, OH) said Stokes proved last year in Sweden she has the offense to go with her tremendous defensive game. Stokes led all of Sweden in scoring at 24.6 points per game and was also tops in assists at 4.6 per contest. She was named to the Swedish All Import Team for her efforts. “The German Bundesliga is one of the most competitive leagues in Europe, and Amber is excited to play on a team that could compete for a league title.”

Stefan Mienack, head coach of Oberhausen, said, “I look forward to having Amber’s quickness and athleticism on both ends of the floor. Her passion and energy will help us be a successful team this season. Amber will play the combo guard position for the most part, but could shift to the point and/or the wing if necessary.”

Stokes attended training camp for the WNBA’s San Antonio Silver Stars in 2013. At Ohio State, she appeared in the NCAA Tournament three of her four years with the Buckeyes, including a run to the Sweet 16 during her sophomore season.
