Tony Tucker begins his fourth season as Ohio State’s Director of Football Student-Athlete Well Being in 2020. Among other duties, Tucker is responsible for organizing and coordinating community service and outreach opportunities for the football program.
A former public school administrator in central Ohio, Tucker spent nearly eight years as the athletics director of Pickerington Central High School prior to coming to Ohio State. In addition to his athletics director duties, Tucker was also a school’s assistant principal. From 2002-12, Tucker as an athletics director in the Columbus City Schools.
Tucker holds a bachelor’s of science degree in sports industry from Ohio University. He also has been certified as an athletic administrator by the National Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association. He also is a former social studies teacher at W.C. Handy School for the Performing Arts in Columbus, and previously taught middle school history at Sonshine Christian Academy in Columbus.
