Shaun Barnhouse became a member of the Ohio State athletic training staff in 2012 before moving on to be named the head athletic trainer in early 2016. Shaun currently covers the football team and has done so since his arrival at Ohio State. Prior to being on staff with the Buckeyes, Shaun completed a yearlong NFL internship with the New England Patriots from 2011-2012. He earned his Master’s Degree in Physical Education from the University of South Carolina while completing a Graduate Assistantship working primarily with the Cross Country and Track and Field teams. Shaun also worked with a variety of other teams and sports during his time in Columbia. While in graduate school, Shaun completed an NFL summer internship with the Buffalo Bills during the 2010 preseason training camp. Shaun is a 2009 graduate of The Ohio State University where he completed his undergraduate athletic training curriculum.
Shaun is originally from Zanesville, Ohio. He currently resides in Westerville, Ohio with his wife Erin and two sons, Luke and Owen.
