Rae Everson joined the Ohio State athletic training staff in 2012 and currently serves as the athletic trainer for the women’s lacrosse team. She also oversees an intern with field hockey. Previously, she served as the athletic trainer for women’s ice hockey (2016-2019), pistol and rifle (2016-2019), and the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field programs (2012-2016).
Rae received a Bachelor of Science in athletic training with a minor in strength & conditioning from the University of Delaware. Everson was also a member of Delaware’s division I field hockey team. While on the team she earned 4 varsity letters as a midfield/back and was a part of Delaware’s 2009 Colonial Athletic Association conference championship run. During this time she also served as the president of UD’s Student-Athlete Advisory Council and represented the school at the NCAA Student-Athlete Development Conference in 2008.
After graduating from Delaware, Everson was an intern athletic trainer at Disney’s/ESPN’s Wide World of Sports in Orlando, FL where she provided coverage for multiple sporting events for all age groups. Following her internship, Everson served as a graduate assistant at the University of Kentucky for two years. While at Kentucky she oversaw the men’s and women’s cross country and track & field teams, acted as an approved clinical instructor, and also served as the athletic department’s Camp/Special Events Medical Coordinator. She earned a Master of Science in athletic training from UK in 2012.
Everson is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, the Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association, and the College Athletic Trainers’ Society. She currently holds certifications or has completed training for the following: Corrective Exercise Specialist, Performance Enhancement Specialist, M1 Graston Technique, TRX Qualified Force Trainer Course L2, Functional Movement Screen Level 1 and 2, dry needling, and spinal manipulation. She resides in Columbus, Ohio.
