Kevin Ries oversees all of the day-to-day equipment operations and needs for the Ohio State football program as director of football equipment services.
Now in his 11th year at Ohio State and eighth season overseeing football, his responsibilities include all equipment purchases, maintenance, repair and inventory, travel logistics to away games, communication with partners such as NIKE, and budgeting.
A 2007 graduate of Xavier University with a degree in sport management, Ries was a basketball manager for the Musketeers for three years. After graduating, he spent a year in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks as an equipment intern and he spent two years as an Olympic sports equipment intern at Ohio State (2009-11).
Certified as an athletic equipment manager, Ries is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Bishop Ready High School. He and his wife, Kathleen, reside in London, Ohio, with their three young children: sons Rory and Quinn, and daughter, Meghan.
