Kevin Ries oversees all of the day-to-day equipment operations and needs for the Ohio State football program as director of football equipment services.
The 2019 football season will be Ries’ 11th year at Ohio State and his eighth season overseeing football, where his responsibilities include all equipment purchases, maintenance, repair and inventory, travel logistics to away games, communication with partners such as NIKE, and budgeting.
A 2007 graduate of Xavier University with a degree in sport management, Ries was a basketball manager for the Musketeers for three years. After graduating, he spent a year in the NFL with the Seattle Seahawks as an equipment intern. He then returned to Ohio and Ohio State where he spent three years as an Olympic sports equipment intern (2009-11) and the 2012 season as a football intern.
Certified as an athletic equipment manager, Ries is a native of Columbus and a graduate of Bishop Ready High School. He and his wife, Kathleen, reside in London, Ohio, with their three young children: sons Rory and Quinn, and daughter, Meghan.
