Jenn Novak returned to The Ohio State University in 2009 and is currently responsible for the coverage of the Women’s Basketball team and oversees a certified intern athletic trainer for the care of the Spirit Squad including the Cheer, Dance and Mascot student-athletes.
Novak received a Bachelor of Science degree in Athletic Training from Kent State University in 2004 and went on to receive a Master of Science degree from The Ohio State University in Allied Health Management in 2007. After obtaining her graduate degree, Novak spent two years as an Assistant Athletic Trainer at the University of Minnesota where she was responsible for the coverage of the Men’s Gymnastics team and the Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams. Along with her strong interest in clinical athletic training, Novak has a passion for her administrative responsibilities in Policy and Procedure development.
In addition to her formal education, Novak has continued to develop her clinical interests and has obtained certifications and/or training in the following clinical modalities:
– Graston Technique Module I
– TRX Qualified Force Trainer Course L2
– Dry Needling and Cupping for Orthopedic Rehabilitation and Sports Performance
– Spinal Manipulations
– Blood Flow Restriction
Novak is a Clinical Preceptor for the Athletic Training Education Program at The Ohio State University. She was named Preceptor of the Month in December 2010, January 2011, November 2016 and April 2018. She was named Clinical Instructor of the Year in 2010.
Novak has attended numerous state and national conventions and is a member of the National Athletic Trainers’ Association, The Great Lakes Athletic Trainers’ Association and Ohio Athletic Trainers’ Association. She currently resides in Columbus, Ohio.
