Jeff Deits MA, AT, CSCS, CES, PES is in his second season as athletic trainer for the Ohio State men’s basketball team. Deits is in his second stint as an athletic trainer at Ohio State, serving as athletic trainer for the men’s hockey team from 2007-10 and again from 2013-17, sandwiched around three years on staff at Wichita State.
He earned his master’s degree in sport humanities from Ohio State in 2009 and a bachelor of science in sport and exercise science with an emphasis in athletic training from Northern Colorado in 2007. Deits currently holds certifications as a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist, Corrective Exercise Specialist and Performance Enhancement Specialist.
In addition to his responsibilities with the men’s basketball program, Deits also is the athletic trainer for the Buckeyes’ women’s golf team. Prior to Ohio State, he has also had internships with the Central Hockey League’s Colorado Eagles and the San Diego Chargers of the National Football League.
Deits lives in Columbus with his wife, Amanda, and children, Claire, Chloe, Aubrey and Amelia.
