Douglas Archie was hired as the associate athletics director for compliance and camps at Ohio State June 12, 2006. Archie most recently was the associate athletics director of compliance at the University of Utah and previously worked seven years for the NCAA.

Archie[apos]s responsibilities in the compliance realm include educating the athletics department and university staff, boosters, coaches and student-athletes about NCAA and Big Ten regulations. In addition, he is responsible for overseeing the compliance monitoring systems related to recruiting, certification and eligibility.

After seven years working for the NCAA in enforcement services and as a membership services representative, Archie went to Utah as the director of compliance where he implemented a comprehensive Division I-A compliance education and monitoring program for student-athletes, coaches, administrators and faculty. Prior to his work with the NCAA, he was the assistant athletics director for compliance at the University of North Dakota.

Archie received his bachelor[apos]s degree in economics from York University in Toronto in 1989. He then went on to earn his master of science in physical education with a concentration in athletics administration from Ohio University in 1990 and his Juris Doctor from University of Toledo College of Law in 1993.

While at York University, Archie was a member of the 1988 Canadian University National Hockey Championship team. York also won four Ontario University Hockey titles during his career.
