Brian Wells joined the Buckeye Strength Staff in December 2020. His primary team responsibilities are the program design and implementation for Men’s Gymnastics, Fencing and Men’s Cheerleading; while also assisting with several other teams.

Prior to being full-time at Ohio State, Brian served as an strength and conditioning intern here for the buckeyes. Brian worked with almost all teams at one point from May 2019 until being hired on December 2020.

Before arriving in Columbus, Brian served at West Liberty University as an Graduate Assistant Strength and Conditioning Coach from 2017 to 2018. January of 2019 Brian worked at WLU as a Coaching Assistant for S&C. At WLU, Brian was responsible for Men’s Basketball, Acrobatics & Tumbling, Women’s Soccer, Track and Field, Women’s Tennis, and assisted with Football and Volleyball.

Before WLU, Brian served as an assistant strength and conditioning coach from 2016 to 2017 at his alma mater Grove City College. Here he oversaw the strength and conditioning responsibilities for Men’s Basketball, Women’s Water Polo, Women’s Soccer, and assisted with Football and Swimming & Diving.

In 2015, Brian earned his bachelor’s degree from Grove City College in exercise science and in 2018, received his master’s in sports leadership and coaching from West Liberty University. Brian is also a varsity letter winner in football at Grove City College.

Brian is certified by the NSCA as a certified strength and conditioning specialist (CSCS), United States of America Weightlifting (USAW) as a Sports Performance Coach – Level 1, and American Red Cross in First Aid, CPR, and AED.
