Coach Beth Byron joined The Ohio State University Strength and Conditioning staff in the fall of 2019. Coach Byron works directly with the Buckeye Men’s Volleyball, Women’s Volleyball and Rowing teams as well as assists with other Buckeye Olympic sports. Before arriving at OSU she served at the University of Texas Athletic Performance staff from 2018-2019 working directly with the Longhorn’s Women’s Swimming and Rowing teams.

Prior to her time at the University of Texas Coach Byron was at West Virginia University serving on the Mountaineer’s strength and conditioning staff for 10 years. During her tenure at West Virginia Coach Byron was directly responsible for training a variety of teams including the Gymnastics, Volleyball, Men’s & Women’s Swimming and Diving, Women’s Track & Field, Women’s Tennis and Rowing teams. Coach Byron arrived in Morgantown from Tampa, where she spent two years as an assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of South Florida. During her time at USF she was directly responsible for all aspects of strength and conditioning for Volleyball, Softball, Men’s and Women’s Soccer, Men’s and Women’s Golf, and Men’s Tennis.

Prior to her time at USF, Coach Byron served as a graduate assistant strength and conditioning coach at the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse. There, she taught a strength and conditioning practicum course in the Exercise and Sports Science program while also serving as the strength and conditioning coach for the Women’s basketball, Volleyball, Gymnastics and Men’s and Women’s Swimming and Diving teams. During the spring of 2006 Coach Byron worked as a graduate intern at the University of Minnesota and assisted with the training of the Golden Gophers Olympic sports teams.

A native of Haverhill, Massachusetts, Coach Byron graduated from Springfield College with a bachelor’s degree in applied exercise science, and was also a member of the Women’s Swimming & Diving team. During her undergraduate studies Coach Byron completed strength and conditioning internships at Mike Boyle’s Strength & Conditioning and at The College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, MA. She completed her master’s degree in human performance with a concentration in strength and conditioning from the University of Wisconsin-La Crosse in 2006. Coach Byron is also a Master Strength and Conditioning Coach with the Collegiate Strength and Conditioning Coaches Association.
