Amy Nicol is a key member of coach Ryan Day’s leadership team as she works in the position of director of internal operations. The 2019 season will be her eighth in this position at Ohio State.
A native of Enterprise, Ala., Nicol’s responsibilities include coordinating a variety of special events including camps, clinics, receptions and dinners, serving on the advance travel team during the season, coordinating post-season/bowl operations and events, working with player’s parents as a family liaison and managing Day’s scheduling calendar.
Nicol has a degree in English from Huntingdon College, in Montgomery, Ala., and she has a master’s in sport, recreation and tourism management from the University of Illinois. She also has completed a term at New York University’s Magazine and Book Publishing Institute.
Nicol’s work experience includes a year as an intern with Southern Living magazine, a year in commercial real estate with McClinton & Company out of Montgomery, Ala., nearly four years with the University of Florida Athletic Association and a position with Shands HealthCare prior to her being named to her Ohio State position in 2012.
Nicol and her husband Rory, the former Ohio State football tight end and four-year letterwinner, reside in the Columbus suburb of Dublin with their young children, Callum and Harper.
