Alyssa Jacobs

Student Assistant

A senior at Ohio State, Jacobs is a Journalism major with minors in Political Science and Business. The Wisconsin native has obtained roles with Ohio House of Representative as a Legislative intern, City of Columbus Recreation and Parks Department as a Community Relations intern, and OhioLINK as a Marketing and Communications intern.  A lifelong competitive dancer and three year student-athlete on Ohio State’s national champion dance team, Alyssa worked as the Synchronized Swimming contact in the 2018-19 season and will add Field Hockey in her second year with the office.

Alyssa first joined the Ohio State Communications staff in the summer of 2018 as a Huntington Bucks Go Pro intern. Throughout the summer, Jacobs composed a blog about the student-athlete internship program and created a series called ‘Buckeye Breakdown’ where she featured the athletic and personal accomplishments of her fellow interns under the supervision of Associate Director Kyle Kuhlman. She has volunteered with the NCAA March Madness tournament and the Greater Columbus Sports Commission. Learning more about the 36 Buckeye varsity sports, being a part of Ohio State game days, and the opportunity to be mentored by the full-time staff have been her favorite parts of her time with the office. Hoping to work in the field of sports communications, Jacobs is excited to be continuing for another elite year of Ohio State Athletics.
