COLUMBUS, Ohio –The Ohio State field hockey team will return to the field on three occasions of spring action from the end of March through April.
“I am excited about the spring schedule,” said head coach Jarred Martin. “This is the time to explore and see where we can grow. The players will try some new positions, we will implement some various strategies and hopefully we will see what elements we can bring to the fall with confidence.”
“The team has been working really hard and putting the time and focus in to improve. I am proud of their commitment to each other and their goals. They have high expectations and know the type of hockey we want to play. I think our spring opponents will do a great job of challenging us in different ways so after we can evaluate and improve. At the end of the spring I am hoping we will have a great understanding for personnel, strategies and formations that work best, and the individual confidence throughout the team as we get ready for an exciting 2019 season of Ohio State field hockey.”
The Buckeyes will kick off three straight weekends of spring competition with a two-day trip in State College, Pa. on March 30-31. Saturday the Buckeyes will play Penn State and Sunday the team will play match ups against Penn State and Saint Joseph’s.
The next weekend, April 6-7, Ohio State will travel to Ann Arbor and play Louisville and Michigan on Saturday and Kent State and Michigan State on Sunday.
