• Lost in the finals of the Big Ten Championships to finish second

• Put himself in All-America contention as the No. 12 seed for the NCAA Championships at 165 lbs
• Placed top-4 in all three tournaments entered including the Big Ten Championships (4th)

• Added seven major decisions to his 19 victories
• Burst onto the national scene with a 5-4 triumph over three-time All-American David McFadden (Virginia Tech)

• Placed sixth in the Big Ten Championships to earn an automatic bid to the NCAA Championships

• Took control of the 174-pound starting spot by winning 4-of-5 Big Ten duals midseason, including victories over No. 9 Ryan Christensen (Wisconsin) and No. 16 Johnny Sebastian (Northwestern)
