Ohio State Overview
• Demario McCall enters his sixth year with the Ohio State program as a veteran of 41 career games and plenty of memorable plays
• Played in all eight of Ohio State’s games in 2020 with 117 all-purpose yards
• Returned five kicks for 78 yards with a long of 29
• His lone reception on the season went for 27 yards in a win over Rutgers
• Played in 13 games as a fourth-year junior in 2019, contributing both on offense and special teams as a kick returner
• Had 35 offensive snaps vs. Maryland with seven carries for 78 yards and two touchdowns while also catching one pass for 11 yards
• Returned two kicks for 63 yards against the Terps – including a season-long 38 yarder – for 152 all-purpose yards
• Finished the season with 447 all-purpose yards (122 rushing, 28 receiving and 232 on kick returns).
• Led the team with 10 kickoff returns and a 23.2 yards/kick average while also returning eight punts
• For his career, McCall has 1,399 all-purpose yards and averages 9.5 yards every time he touches the ball
• Appeared in 10 games in 2018 and made one of the key plays in the Buckeyes’ 52-51 overtime win at Maryland – a 42-yard kick return with under two minutes to play in regulation that set Ohio State up for a game-tying touchdown drive
• Led the team last year with an average of 19.5 yards per kick return
• Also caught nine passes on the season for 110 yards, an average of 12.2 yards per catch
• As a sophomore in 2017, McCall had six rush or receiving plays over 20 yards off just 69 touches and he averaged 7.9 yards per touch on offense
• He has long rushes of 48 yards (TD) vs. Rutgers in 2017 and 39 vs. Rutgers in 2016, and long receptions of 36 yards (TD) vs. Bowling Green in 2016 and 32 yards vs. Maryland in 2016
• Played in five games in 2016 and accumulated 270 rushing yards – at the time, the most by a Buckeye true freshman in 10 years – and scored three touchdowns
