Request the Spirit Program for Your Event

Add some Buckeye spirit to your next event! Brutus and the cheer and dance teams enjoy meeting members of Buckeye Nation, making over 500 appearance each year at alumni receptions, weddings, birthday parties, and more. To request their attendance at your next event, please read below and complete the online request form. Appearance Fees

Appearances will include a visit by Brutus and/or 2-6 Cheerleaders with chants, cheers, and photo opportunities. We can only accommodate requests within 30 miles of our main campus in Columbus, Ohio. Parking will need to be provided or reimbursed if there is a fee. Rates vary depending on the type of event. Standard appearance fees and times are as follows:

*We can only accommodate requests on main campus. We cannot accommodate all requests nor attend events on West Campus or around the Schottenstein Center. For confirmed events, you will receive a representative from the Spirit Program, which may be Brutus, Cheer or Dance team members.

Important Information

• Please complete and submit the Spirit Program Appearance Request Form a minimum of three (3) weeks prior to your event.
• Any request received less than three (3) weeks prior to your event may not be granted. Request received more than 3 months prior to event date will not be scheduled and will need to be re-submitted.
• Due to time constraints and availability, not all requests can be fulfilled. You will be notified approximately 2-4 weeks prior to your event if your request has been approved or cannot be accommodated.
• If being requested, events during home games must be on main campus. Brutus is not available during away Football games.
• Please see above information regarding appearance fee structures. All payments must be received IN FULL a minimum of 10 days prior to appearances. Appearances are NOT considered confirmed until the payment is received.
• Appearance fees support the Spirit Program and are consistent with our peer institutions in the Big Ten Conference.
• For internal payments please select athletics as supplier when paying for event.
• There is no refund for cancellations with less than 48 hours notice.
• Brutus appearances must have a private changing room/area away from guests and a place where he can safely store his belongings.
• Please note that outdoor events may require that Brutus take a 10-minute break every 30 minutes.
• Team members will be prepared based upon the details that are provided at the bottom of the Appearance Request Form. Please be very clear about your expectations of the team’s role at your event.
• If alcohol is being served while our team is at your event, team members must be stationed away from the area where it is being served. Also, please note that if guests become rowdy or inappropriate, the students are instructed to leave immediately, and no refund will be provided. This includes tailgate and game-day appearances.
• If applicable, all parking fees must be covered for the event.
• Events requested during University finals week (unless Athletic Department) will not be granted. Also, events requested during major holidays (i.e. Christmas, New Year’s Eve, 4th of July, Labor Day…) or winter break may not be granted, depending on availability.
• All CDC/University protocols must be followed at events.
• To avoid conflict with existing University contracts and commitments, Party shall take all necessary steps to ensure that neither the Spirit Program/Brutus nor the University appear to directly support, endorse, or sponsor the Party or any of its direct sponsors, nor any advertising adjacent to the Party, in any medium, without first obtaining the prior written consent of University’s Office of Trademark & Licensing Services. Similarly, the Spirit Program/Brutus shall not permit the Party’s sponsors to suggest, in any medium, direct support or sponsorship by University of the Party or sponsors and/or sponsor’s products and/or services without first obtaining the prior written consent of University’s Office of Trademark & Licensing Services.
