COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) – Ohio State will get another chance to beat South Carolina in the Outback Bowl, this time with a new coach.
The Gamecocks (8-3) were officially invited to the Outback Bowl on Sunday, with coach Lou Holtz matching strategy against Buckeyes coach Jim Tressel.
In last year’s Jan. 1 game in Tampa, Fla., South Carolina upset Ohio State 24-7 in what turned out to be John Cooper’s final game as the Buckeyes’ coach.
No. 22 Ohio State (7-4) closed its season with a win over Michigan 26-20, while No. 14 South Carolina ended with a 20-15 win over its rival, Clemson.
