COLUMBUS, Ohio – Six members of the Ohio State men’s golf team were honored on Wednesday by the Big Ten for their academic performance as they were named Academic All-Big Ten.
Jack Mancinotti and Justin Wick have each earned the distinction for the third time. Kevin Stone, JonErik Alford and Laken Hinton have now earned the award in back-to-back years while Grant Engle claims his first award. Ohio State has had 57 players earn Academic All-Big Ten honors a total of 134 times since the conference began the award in 1987.
The program was also honored this year by receiving an NCAA Public Recognition Award. The award is given each year to teams scoring in the Top 10 percent in each sport based on their most recent multi-year Academic Progress Rates (APR). A total of nine Buckeyes were named OSU Scholar-Athletes this year as well.
