PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The Ohio State women’s golf team sits 14th with one round to play after a second-round 305 Monday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge at Palos Verdes Golf Club.
Sophomores Adeena Shears and Alex Wright are tied for 33rd at 6-over par after Shears posted a career-low 73 in the second round, following up an opening-round 75, and Wright recorded the opposite, tallying a second-round 75 after a 73 Sunday. Jaclyn Lee sits tied for 50th after a 6-over 77 while Alanis Sakuma, playing as an individual, tied her career-low 75. Niki Schroeder and Sofia Seldemirova, also playing as an individual, each are 18-over heading into the final round after a second-round 80 and 82, respectively, while Rio Watanabe rounded out the lineup with a second-round 87.
Shears made two birdies and an eagle en route to her career-best round while Sakuma and Schroeder also made a pair of birdies each. Wright tied for the sixth-most pars in the second round with 25.
