COLUMBUS, Ohio – Freshmen Shana Frost (Frankford, Ont.) and Lindsey Ogren (North Oaks, Minn.), Ohio State women’s ice hockey players, were recognized by the Western Collegiate Hockey Association this week for their multiple-point performances in the Buckeyes’ 6-2 victory over St. Cloud State on Oct. 23. The win was the first-ever in the program’s history.

Frost was awarded WCHA Player of the Week honors for the week ending Oct. 24. She scored two goals and added two assists for four points. Frost put the Buckeyes up,1-0, with her first tally of the contest early in the first period. In the third period, Frost scored again to give the Buckeyes a 3-2 lead. That goal proved to be the game-winner for OSU.

Ogren was selected as the WCHA Rookie of the Week for the week ending Oct. 24. Ogren tallied two goals and one assist, equaling three points in the win. She knotted the game at two midway through the second period before assisting Frost on the eventual game-winner. She added a second goal late in the third period.
