FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. – Aneka Seumanutafa, a freshman on the Ohio State women’s golf team, sits in a tie for 23rd after an even-par 73 Sunday at Blessings Golf Club in Fayetteville, Ark. The freshman started her second round Saturday but inclement weather forced the postponement of the round and trimmed the Championships, originally slated for 72 holes, to a 54-hole event concluding Monday.
Seumanutafa is one of nine players at 5-over through two rounds in a tie for 23rd, nine strokes back of leader Sierra Brooks of Florida.
The Emmitsburg, Md., native opened the round with a bogey before carding birdies on four, six and seven to notch a 2-under 35 on her first nine. Seumanutafa responded to a double-bogey on the par-3 13th hole with a birdie on the par-4 14th before concluding the round with a bogey on the par-4 18th hole to come in at even-par. She is tied for 13th in par-4 scoring at 3-over.
