COLUMBUS, Ohio – Aneka Seumanutafa, a sophomore on the Ohio State women’s golf team, has been invited to a practice session in advance of the 2020 Curtis Cup, the USGA announced this week. Seumanutafa is one of 12 players invited to the practice session at Loblolly in Hobe Sound, Fla., Dec. 15-17.
A biennial competition, the 41st Curtis Cup Match will be contested June 12-14, 2020, at Conwy Golf Club in Caernarvonshire, Wales. The Curtis Cup Match is contested by two teams of eight female amateur players, one from the United States of America and one from Great Britain and Ireland, which is comprised of England, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The USGA’s International Team Selection Committee selects the USA Team, while The R&A selects the GB&I Team.
Seumanutafa, a WGCA Second Team All-American and Golfweek Third Team All-American to go along with Big Ten Freshman of the Year and First Team All-Big Ten honors a year ago, leads the Buckeyes with a 72.4 scoring average through 12 rounds of the fall season. Of those rounds, 10 have counted toward the team tally with five under-par, one at even-par and season-best six-under 66 in the opening round of the Ruth’s Chris Tar Heel Invitational Oct. 11 in Chapel Hill, N.C.
