Seumanutafa Earns Invite to Curtis Cup Practice Session

USGA Release

COLUMBUS, Ohio — Aneka Seumanutafa is one of 12 players invited to attend a practice session for the U.S. team that will participate in the 42nd Curtis Cup.

The practices will be Jan. 15-16 at Mountain Lake in Lake Wales, Florida.

Seumanutafa, a senior from Emmitsburg, Maryland, has been a first team All-Big Ten honoree each of the last two years and was named the Big Ten freshman of the year in 2019.

She posted a pair of Top 10 finishes last fall. The Buckeyes are preparing for the spring season, which begins Jan. 31 at the Big Ten Match Play at the Island Course at Innisbrook in Palm Harbor, Florida.

The Curtis Cup Match is contested by two teams of eight female amateur players, one from the United States of America and one from Great Britain and Ireland, which is composed of England, the Republic of Ireland, Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales. The USGA’s International Team Selection Working Group selects the USA Team, while The R&A selects the GB&I Team.

The 2022 Curtis Cup will be held at the Merion Golf Club in Ardmore, Pennsylvania, June 10-12.

The USA defeated Great Britain & Ireland 12.5-7.5 in August to win overseas for the first time since 2008. The USA leads the overall series, 30-8-3.
