Samantha Cheverton has been the Most Valuable Swimmer for the Buckeyes all four years. She capped her fabulous four-year career this season by winning the Big Ten Conference championship in the 200 freestyle while helping the Buckeyes to a 17-year-best third-place finish. This eight-time school record holder then earned four honorable mention All-America awards while helping Ohio State to a 17th-place finish at the NCAA championships. Cheverton, who graduated in December with a degree in psychology, is a two-time Big Ten Conference Distinguished Scholar, a three-time Academic All-Big Ten honoree and a four-time OSU Scholar Athlete. A member of the Canadian National Swimming Team, Cheverton will compete in China this summer at the World Championships and then hopes to qualify for the 2012 London Olympics.
