COLUMBUS, Ohio — Men’s lacrosse sophomore attackman Logan Schuss has been named the Nike Player of the Week by Schuss, an honorable mention All-American last year, had a team-best three goals and five points in Ohio State’s upset of No. 3-ranked North Carolina Saturday. He tied the game in the second quarter with a highlight reel, no-look, over the shoulder shot and assisted on Bryce Woodson’s goal that gave Ohio State the lead for the first time in the second quarter. Schuss scored back-to-back goals less than two minutes apart in the third quarter to give the Buckeyes a 9-6 lead and also assisted on Michael Italiano’s goal with 7:51 left in regulation.

Schuss, who led the Buckeyes with an Ohio State rookie record 56 points a year ago, has four goals, three assists and seven points in 2011. He is on a 17-game point streak that began in his first game with the Buckeyes.

Schuss and the Buckeyes, ranked No. 13/15, return to action with a game at UMass at noon Saturday in Amherst, Mass.
