Schedule Set For 17th Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic

COLUMBUS, Ohio – The slate for the 17th annual Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic has been set and Ohio State will play three times over the two-day event with all three games coming at the friendly confines of Buckeye Field. For a full schedule, click here.

As in past years, the Buckeyes will open up the weekend with a Scarlet vs. Gray intrasquad scrimmage on Friday, Sept. 29 at 6 p.m. Admission is free. The following day, on Saturday, Ohio State faces Miami (Ohio) at 12:45 p.m. inside Buckeye Field. The Buckeyes will then split up in to a Scarlet squad and Gray squad on Sunday and play twice at Buckeye Field, beginning with a 9:30 a.m. game for Gray vs. Toledo followed by an 11:45 a.m. contest for Scarlet vs. Eastern Michigan.

Nearly 20 teams from Ohio and neighboring states will participate this year. In addition to the games at Buckeye Field, Saturday’s schedule includes multiple games on five fields at Fred Beekman Park. There will also be two games on fields No. 1 and No. 2 on Sunday at Fred Beekman with three games taking place at Buckeye Field. A clinic is scheduled to take place Saturday afternoon at Fred Beekman Park (more information to follow).

The Ohio Collegiate Charity Classic has raised over $200,000, making it one of the largest fundraisers for Breast Cancer Awareness month in central Ohio. Proceeds benefit The Stefanie Spielman Fund for Breast Cancer Research at the OSUCCC-James.

The Buckeyes have also finalized their 2017 fall schedule, which includes two doubleheaders and five home dates. Ohio State hosts Dayton on Friday, Sept. 22 at 6 p.m. for a single game and then a doubleheader with Wright State on Sunday, Sept. 24 beginning at 1 p.m. The OCCC takes place Sept. 30-Oct. 1 and the fall season wraps up with a doubleheader at Kentucky on Sunday, Oct. 8.
