COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Ohio State women’s volleyball team capped its preseason with its annual Scarlet and Gray match Tuesday night. Scarlet topped Gray, 2-1 (25-15, 19-25, 15-12), in the shortened match that had head coach Geoff Carlston mix up the teams each set.
Senior Mari Hole and freshman Katie Mitchell tallied 10 kills each, while senior Emily Danks totaled eight kills and two service aces. Junior Julianne Mandolfo and sophomore Alyssa Winner led the Buckeye defense with 12 and nine digs, respectively.
The Buckeyes open the season this weekend hosting it annual Sports Imports DC Koehl Classic, Aug. 24-25. The squad welcomes Houston, Toledo and No. 20 Oregon to St. John Arena for the two-day tournament. More information is located at OhioStateBuckeyes.com.
