COLUMBUS, Ohio – The Scarlet squad evened the Scarlet and Gray Series at 2-all after defeating Gray, 4-0, Tuesday night at Nick Swisher Field at Bill Davis Stadium. Game 5 of the series has been moved to Thursday at 6 p.m. due to weather predicted Friday in Columbus. Admission is free and fans will need to use the Pay-N-Display machines for parking.
Pitching was the highlight in Game 4 led by left-hander Griffan Smith who claimed the win after throwing 4.2 scoreless innings, scattering four hits with six strikeouts and one walk. Right-hander Cole Niekamp pitched the final 1.1 innings and didn’t allow a hit with one strikeout. For Gray, right-hander Jake Vance struck out four and sent down 10 straight hitters after allowing three runs in the first. Left-hander Jonathan Jahn threw 1.2 scoreless innings out of the bullpen. At the plate, Brady Cherry drove in two runs on a triple in the first and Andrew Fishel drove in a run on a ground out for Scarlet.
