COLUMBUS, Ohio The Ohio State softball team will travel to Athens, Ga., for its first appearance in an NCAA Super Regional in program history, according to an announcement made by the NCAA Monday morning. The 11th-seeded Buckeyes (47-9) will face sixth-seeded Georgia (42-10) in a best-of-three game series Thursday and Friday at the UGA Softball Stadium. The opening game of the series will take place Thursday at 7 p.m. ET while game two will be Friday at 4:30 p.m. The ‘if necessary’ game three would follow game two on Friday at 6:30 p.m.

All of the Georgia vs. Ohio State games will be broadcast live on ESPN2.

Daily tickets to attend the NCAA Softball Athens Super Regional will go on sale beginning at 9 a.m. ET today. Tickets can be purchased online via, by calling 1-877-542-1231 or in person at the UGA Athletic Association Ticket Office located in the Butts-Mehre Building.
Daily ticket prices are $10 chairbacks, $7 bleacher adults and $5 bleacher students (college age and younger) and senior citizens. Mastercard, VISA and cash are all accepted forms of payment.
All tickets ordered for the Athens Super Regional will be distributed via will-call. Fans may claim their tickets prior to the Regional from the Athletic Association Ticket Office on Wednesday, May 20, between 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and again on Thursday, May 21, from 8:30 a.m. to Noon. Fans will also be available to pick up their tickets at the UGA Softball Stadium will-call ticket booth beginning two hours before the first game each day.

A total of 64 teams were selected to the 28th-Annual NCAA Division I Softball NCAA Championship with just 16 advancing to the Super Regional round of play. The eight Super Regional winners will advance to the NCAA Women’s College World Series in Oklahoma City May 28-June 3. Both the Bulldogs and Buckeyes will be vying to make their first-ever trip to the WCWS.
