Resume Tutor
Serving as an in-house starting point for student-athletes, appointments can be scheduled with the SASSO Resume Tutor during weekday business hours. The resume tutor assists student-athletes by helping them create a rough draft resume or by providing feedback on student-athletes’ current copies. In every appointment student-athletes receive career-related tip sheets and resources, as well as information about the offices on campus that provide services related to career development. The ultimate goal is to prepare and motivate student-athletes to seek out appointments with career advisors in their respective college’s Career Services Office. Students should contact Brittany Savko to schedule their appointments.
4 Year Career Plan
Introduced in fall 2015, the 4 Year Career Plan requires each class to complete one task preparing them for life after sports. Freshmen complete an online career assessment, sophomores create a rough draft resume, juniors participate in a career consultation, and seniors partake in a mock interview or networking opportunity. SASSO has oversight on years 1 & 2 while the Assistant Director for Student-Athlete Career Management in Athletics (LaToya Farris) oversees years 3 & 4. Buckeyes are encouraged to use the hashtag #BuckeyeFutures to highlight their career-related achievements.
Buckeye Futures Fair
Hosted by the Department of Athletics, the Buckeye Futures Fair allows student-athletes to network with representatives from approximately 60 organizations and companies from Central Ohio and nationwide.
