CHICAGO, Ill. – Five Buckeyes competed in the 56th Midlands Championships, including three true freshmen. A pair of those collegiate rookies, Sammy Sasso and Gavin Hoffman, found their way to the podium by placing third and fifth, respectively.

In addition, Sasso blanked Michigan’s Alec Pantaleo in the wrestleback semifinals. Pantaleo is a two-time All-American and currently ranked sixth nationally at 157 pounds.
