COLUMBUS, Ohio Sammy Stone, a forward from Herndon, Va., has signed a national letter of intent to further her academic and athletic career as a member of the Ohio State field hockey program, head coach Jarred Martin announced today.

Stone earned first-team All-Met honors as both a junior and senior for Herndon High School while playing for head coach Mary Miller. This past fall, she was a second team All-State selection while leading her team to a 14-6 record. As a sophomore in 2014, she teamed with her sister, Taylor, and helped Herndon to the 2014 Concord District Championship for the first time in 35 years.

On the club level, Stone competes for Rampage Field Hockey and is coached by Starr Karl. She was a second team US Futures Level I selection.
