Five seniors saw their last action as Buckeyes on Saturday. Michael Steinel led the team in smallbore and led the seniors in air rifle with a score of 590. Quintin Wotring fired scores of 565 in smallbore and 579 in air rifle. Bailey Urbach posted scores of 564 in smallbore and air rifle. Brendan Whitaker scored 560 in smallbore and a season best 584 in air rifle while Patrick Sardo completed his Ohio State career with scores of 553 in smallbore and 576 in air rifle. Coach Tanoue said,
“This past weekend’s NCAA Qualifier was very bittersweet for the team as it marked the end of the collegiate careers for our seniors. They have all contributed to our team’s success over their four years in so many ways and I want to take a moment to thank them for their efforts throughout their careers.”
In smallbore, the team fired a score of 2291 and were led by senior Michal Steinel who fired a score of 576. He was followed by sophomore Elizabeth Dutton (575), freshman Ariel Hall (571), junior Jacob Buchanan (569), and junior Rhiann Travis (559) who rounded out team scoring. Junior Alli Kissel led the way for the individuals firing a 574 while Annabelle Stanec (558), Mica Harr (553), Annie Tomb (553), Wynn Lekhavanija (551), Jared Minor (548), and Megan Wilcoxson (530) rounded out individual scoring.
In air rifle, the team fired a score of 2353 led by freshman Annie Tomb who fired a season best 593. She was followed by Jacob Buchanan (588), Rhiann Travis (587), Ariel Hall (585), and Annabelle Stanec (585) who rounded out team scoring. Firing as individuals, Elizabeth Dutton fired a 588 followed by Mica Harr (583), Jared Minor (583), Wynn Lekhavanija (579), Alli Kissell (576), and Megan Wilcoxson (563).
