Rhiann Travis Earns All-America Honors for Third Time

COLUMBUS, Ohio – Senior Rhiann Travis picked up NRA All-America recognition for the third time in her career, receiving 2019-20 All-America honorable mention in air rifle. She was also one of eight Buckeyes to be named Scholastic All-Americans by the College Rifle Coaches Association (CRCA).

“A huge congratulations goes out to Rhiann and our eight Scholastic All-Americans,” Ryan Tanoue, head coach, said. “Being recognized as an All-American is something very special and for Rhiann to be honored for the third time in her career is a truly fantastic accomplishment.

“Additionally for eight members of our team to be named Scholastic All-Americans is a great reward for our team’s hard work in the classroom. I am very proud of the effort our team has put in on and off the range this season.”

Travis corralled second team distinction in both 2016-17 and 2017-18. For her latest award, the Springtown, Texas native averaged a team-best 590.1 in air rifle. She peaked on Jan. 25 versus Air Force, firing a 595 to help lift Ohio State past the 5th-ranked Falcons. Travis posted a ‘counting’ score in every single competition this season, in both air rifle and smallbore.
