COLUMBUS, Ohio – Ohio State senior gymnast Rebecca Best has qualified for the NCAA Championships on balance beam this weekend in Cleveland, Ohio. Best will compete in semifinal 1 at noon Friday at the Wolstein Center.

The co-captain and 2009 All-American posted a career-high 9.900 on beam April 2 at the Ann Arbor Regional to qualify. This season marks the third trip to the national championships for Best. A three-time All Big Ten selection, Best traveled as an alternate as a freshman before collecting second team All-America honors on floor in 2009 to become the sixth Buckeye to earn All-America honors.

The Buckeyes, led by 2011 Big Ten Coach of the Year Carey Fagan, finished third as a team at the Ann Arbor Regional, the sixth-consecutive NCAA regional appearance for Ohio State.
