COLUMBUS, Ohio – After carding a qualifying round of 71 earlier in the week, rising senior Rachel Rohanna is set to compete at the 27th edition of the Jamie Farr Toledo Classic, Aug. 9-12, in Sylvania, Ohio. One of only a handful of amateurs competing, Rohanna will begin play from the No. 10 tee tomorrow at 8:10 a.m.
Held at the par 71, 6,428-yard Highland Meadows Golf Club, the LPGA tournament will feature some of the top names in professional golf with proceeds benefiting local charities such as Boys & Girls Clubs of Toledo and Ronald McDonald House Charities.
Taking part in several tournaments throughout the summer, the Waynesburg, Pa., native recently took medalist honors by five strokes at the Judson Collegiate Invitational and tied for third along with teammate Amy Meier at the Pure Silk Women’s Collegiate Team Championship.
Earning a team-low stroke average of 74.34 during the 2011-12 season, Rohanna and the rest of the Buckeyes will kick off their upcoming fall slate at the Branch Law Firm/Dick McGuire Invitational Sept. 17-18 in Albuquerque, N.M.
